Provider Offers Free 3d Ultrasound To Spouses Of Deployed Us Servicemen

Released on = April 28, 2007, 7:09 am

Press Release Author = Small Wonders Imaging

Industry = Consumer Services

Press Release Summary = South Carolina Based Company introduces \"Operation
Ultrasound\", offering free 3D prenatal ultrasounds spouses of deployed US
servicemen.

Press Release Body = There are close to 150,000 American servicemen and women
deployed overseas in defense of our country. Many of these troops and there families
are living in difficult conditions with few, if any creature comforts. For those of
us who watch the war from a distance, we simply see the snapshots on TV or words on
a page. It\'s hard to imagine the day-to-day impact it has on so many families. Small
Wonders Imaging LLC, a Charleston South Carolina based Prenatal Ultrasound Center
wants to help. Their \"Operation Ultrasound\" program uniquely touches the lives of
deployed troops around the world.

Starting May 1st, 2007, expecting spouses of deployed US servicemen in the
Charleston area are eligible for a free 3D ultrasound. The company will provide a
free 10-minute ultrasound and a digital image file on CD that can be emailed to the
father oversees. This special offer is extended not only to Active Duty, but to
Guard and Reserve unit families as well. Military moms can take advantage of Small
Wonders Imaging's' \"Operation Ultrasound\" program between 16 and 32 weeks of
pregnancy. As part of the company\'s protocol, each ultrasound will include a limited
diagnostic exam. Appointments are required, and the serviceman's Unit Identification
Code will be needed when registering. Limit one ultrasound per family. This special
offer is extended through June 30th 2007.

\"Recent studies have shown that the bonding experience provided by a 3D ultrasound
can help mothers improve their diets and exercise more frequently, but for Fathers
and siblings, the chance to see the baby and create a pre-birth bond is instrumental
in drawing the whole family closer together\" states Holly Poe, Small Wonders Imaging
President and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. \"Not only are many of these
women first time moms, but they are often facing tremendous separation anxiety.
Their husbands do not get to share in the pregnancy, and they end up supporting each
other the best that they can through email and cell phones. We wanted to offer a
quick-and-easy service that gives these families an opportunity to make those
important early bonds, and we wanted to do it at no charge to the soldier,\" Poe
added.

Small Wonders Imaging is South Carolina\'s only registered Independent Diagnostic
Testing Facility focusing strictly on the ultrasound modality. The company meets the
needs of expecting parents and health care providers alike, specializing in both 3D
elective reassurance ultrasounds as well as full diagnostic exams.
