Press Release Author = BWR

Press Release Body = April 24th, 2007
Kansas City, MO
BWR
The massive consolidated car rental construction project passengers have flown over
for several years at Kansas City International Airport is scheduled for the official
ceremonial ribbon cutting April 24th. After almost 10 years of planning, the $90
million facility will be the country's most recent consolidated car rental complex.

The 72-acre development will house 10 car rental companies for a total of 8,000
automobiles. The main objective of the project is to reduce congestion from the
gate to the car rental terminal. Currently, 95 buses circle each terminal per hour,
and with the opening of the Consolidated Car Rental Facility(CCRF), that number will
reduce to 30 buses per hour.

"BWR is proud to have been a part of this important Kansas City Airport project. Not
only is the CCRF a significant architectural element for Kansas City tourists and
business travelers, but the major reduction in emissions is a considerable positive
environmental impact to our area," said BWR Principal Ronald L. Shaffer.

BWR served as the architect-of-record for the complex, which is scheduled to open to
the public in May. The design incorporated a central waiting area, a registration
desk and office facilities for each rental company, central security office, vending
areas, restrooms and other ancillary spaces.

Each rental company will have its own separate maintenance building for servicing
their vehicle fleet. These buildings will include office facilities, two to four
maintenance bays for inspections and minor maintenance work, a car wash bay,
restrooms and storage areas. Each rental company will also have large parking areas
adjacent to their maintenance facility to store rental cars.
