Press Release Body = Survey of the European Fabric Fairs for Autumn/Winter 2005/06

The different products on view at Première Vision and Texworld-the two major fabric
fairs held simultaneously in September 2004 at different venues in Paris,
France-illustrated the way in which European fabric makers are fighting to hold
their places in world markets. Fabrics at Texworld, a global fabric fair with a high
share of exhibitors from Asia, Eastern Europe and South America, were generally of
good quality and offered at attractive prices. But at Première Vision they were more
innovative and design-led, and were bright, and colourful. Similar products, mainly
from the design-conscious Italian fashion fabrics industry, were on show at Milan's
Moda in Tessuto and Florence's Prato Expo fairs.
