Any Homeowners Know a Good Contractor

Released on = May 15, 2007, 11:13 am

Press Release Author = Kevin Smigel

Industry = Consumer Services

Press Release Summary = No Cost to Homeowners for Using Home Pro Connections. Home
Pro Connections, LLC is a free local homeowner referral network that provides
pre-screened reliable home improvement professionals to the South Bay and
surrounding areas.

Press Release Body = When is the last time you had a good customer experience
dealing with a home improvement contractor? Chances are at one time or another you
had a bad experience, or even a horror story about a contractor who left you high
and dry or with substandard results.

Now, the South Bay of Los Angeles has a solution. Home Pro Connections, LLC is a
local FREE referral service that matches homeowners with pre-screened reliable home
improvement professionals for everything from flooring to electrical to room
additions.

Founder of Home Pro Connections, Kevin Smigel, decided to start his company when he
found it so difficult to get good contractors for his own home projects. "Most
people I talked with had similar negative experiences. We all wondered why it was
considered acceptable to have poor customer service in this industry" said Kevin.

Home Pro Connections has a network of home improvement pros that pass a rigorous
screening process that includes license and insurance verification, BBB and Office
of Consumer Affairs check and a personal check on a minimum of five recent
references. Each contractor in their network pays a small fee on all new business
secured through a Home Pro Connections associate. "Contractors cannot simply pay to
be included in the network like other so called referral services," added Kevin.

It works like this; the homeowner simply contacts Home Pro Connections with a
description of the project they need and are matched with a pre-screened, licensed
and insured home improvement professional that submits a bid or proposal to the
homeowner. The homeowner then is free to select the contractor who best meets their
needs. Response from homeowners has been overwhelmingly positive.

Smigel gets most of the contractors in his network through word of mouth from
homeowners who have had positive experiences.

"I was in the corporate world for 18 years and to not show up for a client
appointment, not return calls or simply leave in the middle of the job before its
finished was unheard of, yet in the world of home improvement contractors it seems
to be standard operating procedure," added Kevin.
