In the film we hear more about the \"bio-invaders\", and the new laws that are approaching the shipping industry. All ships will have to carry out planned management of ballast water and treatment of of the sediment left when ballast has been discharged. Port State Control will want to check your Ballast Water Record Book. You will need to a Ballast Water Management Officer for every voyage.
Just as important, ships will have to exchange Ballast Water whilst in deep water, far out at sea. This can be dangerous if you don\'t do it correctly. There is a real risk of capsizing.
You need to have a Ballast Water Management Plan that is SAFE, and that WORKS.
