Press Release Body = New York, NY - May 1, 2007 - As thousands of graduates enter the workplace in the next few months, two former film students demonstrate that youth does not hinder passion in what started as a simple desire to see the talent of American independent film makers celebrated and is now the ACE Film Festival, a three-day event from August 24-26, 2007 at The Broad Street Ballroom on 41 Broad Street in New York City.
Founders Thomas O\'Malley and Luke Szczygielski tapped into a mixture of formal training and hands-on experience from the prestigious College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University, raw talent, ambition and a passionate idea. The duo was inspired during their studies to create a showcase for American film makers to promote national cinema, with a focus on independent work and highlighting the art house aspect of film festivals. Only a few months after graduation the men founded the American Cinematic Experience (ACE) Film Festival, an event that rivals veteran festivals and possesses a list of sponsors that rival big-name players in the business. With support from Wall Street Rising and New York Foundation of the Arts (NYFA), ACE Film Festival is poised to be a great success.

The film school friends portray the spirit that the America is famous for, that with vision and hard-work one can succeed at anything. A classic American story themselves, O\'Malley and Szczygielski met while in college, where they were both studying transmedia. O\'Malley grew up in Syracuse and went to college thanks to the support and encouragement of his father who gave up a career in the restaurant business to put his son through school. Szczygielski moved to Yonkers, NY from Poland at age 15, and was raised by a single-mother who brought him to the United States to also provide him with an education.
In the American tradition, the ACE Film Festival is now a tool for passing on the opportunities O\'Malley and Szczygielski felt they received in their life by giving the stage to other striving film makers. As a feature of the River To River Festival, the world?s largest summer-long free festival, this film exposition is dedicated to showcasing up and coming filmmakers who have directed shorts, feature length films and animated films. ACE Film Festival will be playing purely American work by American film makers.

Tom and Luke have refused to be just another event on the festival circuit calendar. Tickets go on sale June 4th, priced at forty dollars for a one-day pass and only one hundred dollars for a three-day pass, which includes the film festival and Club Ace, an on-site venue with food, music and networking opportunities. A portion of ticket proceeds go to The New York Foundation for the Arts.
