Hasty homebuyers `risking huge repair bills` says National Homebuyers

Released on = June 22, 2007, 2:43 am

Press Release Author = Charlotte Burrows

Industry = Real Estate

Press Release Summary = Homebuyers are risking their financial stability by rushing
to purchase properties without first checking for structural flaws.

Press Release Body = A recent survey by AA Legal Services found 75 per cent of
homebuyers do not conduct a thorough survey of their potential new properties before
committing to purchase.

As a result, many face \"huge repair bills\" should their homes subsequently prove to
be unsound, according to Allied Surveyors\' technical director Chris Rispin.

\"Serious structural issues can prove incredibly expensive for a property owner and,
if undetected for long periods of time, can cause many thousands of pounds worth of
damage,\" he said.

\"While the relevance of any serious flaws would get picked up by a surveyor
conducting a full structural survey on a property, they can often get missed or go
unnoticed by the buyer.

\"Buyers who refrain from having a survey on any property they plan to purchase are
taking a big risk and could face huge repair bills if these problems only become
apparent once the sale has gone through.\"

In order to finance major structural repairs, homeowners could consider selling
their homes to National Homebuyers and subsequently renting them back. Director
Julian King says: \"Everybody is a property investor, but they fail to see the
simplest of downward signs.

\"The indicators are all pointing toward a downward turn across the country, as seen
in areas of York, Nottingham and the East End of London\".

\"Now is not a good time to invest in property.\"

National Homebuyers is the UK\'s leading fast property purchase firm, guaranteeing to
make an offer to purchase any property in any condition. The business throws a
life-life to owners who are struggling in the current financial climate.
