Press Release Body = Marbella is a famously upmarket resort in the Malaga region of
Spain and occupies a special place in the Costa del Sol. Just over 115,000 people
call the town home - a far cry from its early days as a small village with less than
1,000 inhabitants. Marbella owes its existence entirely to luck.

Prince Max Egon zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and his heir Alfonso of Hohenlohe were
driving through the area when their Rolls-Royce broke down and forced them to remain
for a while. Around ten years later, the prince returned to the area which had so
enraptured him, buying a plot of land and building a hotel resort - the Hotel
Marbella Club which opened in 1954.

Other European aristocrats and their families were regularly invited to visit and
the town soon became famous as a playground for the rich and famous. These days,
Marbella attracts wealthy tourists from all over Europe - especially the UK, France
and Germany - and is also popular with Arab visitors. In 1974, Saudi Arabia\'s Prince
Fahd arrived with an entourage of over 1,000 people, all spending a fraction of his
vast oil wealth.

Golf tourists also flock to Marbella, as the surrounding area and indeed the whole
Costa del Sol is home to a number of internationally regarded courses. Sean Connery,
a particularly keen golfer, used to live in Marbella and claimed to play on the
course next to his house every day when not filming.

Local developers are keen to avoid spoiling Marbella and a new building development
plan has recently been implemented. Paul Rossiter, an agent with property brokers
Carrington Estates, says that the move is a positive one that will ensure the
property market remains \"steadfast\". He also added that many clients have said they
\"feel safer\" making a purchase under the new regulations \"as contracts and licenses
are being double and triple checked by fastidious lawyers.\"

Property investment news website Easier recently noted that, while Marbella is out
of the reach of those investors operating in the low-end and emerging markets, it
has never been far from the mind of top-end investors. And as the site commented:
\"Nowhere betters the Costa del Sol for sunshine, golf, shopping, infrastructure and
short haul accessibility\".
