\"So, while the government decides on the best way to introduce Hips, we have a very healthy market.\"
Hips have come in for criticism from many in the housing market for the added expense that they impose on homeowners - many of whom will already be financially-stretched.
Julian King, director of National Homebuyers commented in May that: \"Ahead of the planned launch of Hips, the number of instructions to sell properties rose for the second month in succession, following directly on from the longest decline in seven years.
\"Homeowners had been rushing to sell their homes before June 1st in order to avoid having to pay the estimated £500 fee for a Hips Pack.\"
