In order to prepare the Catalyst EDU campus for students, they needed computers,
internet connectivity, and the ability to keep it working for students. Catalyst EDU
came to J.P. Schwartz with a few goals and requirements for the network. The network
needed to provide support for the staff and administration and to provide a safe
learning experience for students. This meant implementing a firewall, anti virus
solution, removing spyware or malware and providing content filtering to prevent
exposing students to inappropriate internet content. It also meant providing a
robust backup solution that could quickly recover data or replace a desktop image
for students in the event of software or equipment failure.
