Press Release Body: Well, just trains actually. The other two forms of transport are
coming in for increasing flak over the impact they have on the environment. Trains
on the other hand are enjoying a period of renewed popularity as environmental
concerns begin to affect consumer travel decisions.

Trains are also becoming more relevant, according to a report in the Telegraph this
week. A few years ago, trains were useful only in the sense that they could get you
around domestically, form one end of the UK to the other.

If you wanted to go abroad you could get the train to the airport or the ferry, but
that was about your limit. The advent of the Channel Tunnel changed all that. With a
rail link to Paris running direct from London, it is now possible to travel
virtually anywhere on the continent by rail, starting from your local station.

A spokesman from train route website Seat61 told the Telegraph recently that people
are now using the train to travel all over Europe. \"You\'d think that people would
mainly be pootling to France and Belgium properties but for a long time Italy was
the most popular destination, followed by Spain then France,\" he said.

The newspaper interviewed a Cheshire couple that own a holiday home in France .
Teresa O\'Brien and John White said they are \"very conscious\" of the fact that flying
produces more carbon emissions than going by train.

\"We get cheap rail travel in England and France, which is a bargain as long as you
book in advance. We try to spend two long holidays there each year, and once we\'re
down there we can get around by bus or train and we plan to buy bikes next time,\"
added Ms O\'Brien.

From November 14th this year, a new terminal at St Pancras, London will house the
Eurostar service. Using a new high-speed line, the train will be able to move
directly on the high-speed train lines in Europe, according to the firm .

The service operators claim that at least 20 minutes will be knocked off journey
times as a result of the new developments. It promises London to Brussels in a
rather exact one hour and 51 minutes, Lille in one hour 20 minutes and Paris in two
hours and 15 minutes.
