SINGER USES INTERNET TO BOOST CAREER

Released on: September 29, 2007, 4:45 pm

Press Release Author: Candise Karr/Gold Guitars Music

Industry: Entertainment

Press Release Summary: Web Helps Country Musician Generate Interest

Press Release Body: 24 year old country artist Stephanie Deskins
(www.stephdeskins.com) has used the internet to garner attention from various
outlets. She has recently earned sponsorship deals with Knucklehead Guitar Strings
(www.knucklehead.com), Timberline Guitars (www.timberlineguitars.com), and Morgan's
Leather Den which hand crafts custom guitar straps.

The internet has also helped her receive radio attention from various stations
world-wide including stations in Illinois, Florida, Germany, Australia and New
Zealand. She has also appeared on local television shows promoting the material she
writes.

Writing her own material, "When You Come Around" has won several fan-voted awards
that include a few "Best of All-Time". Another song getting rave reviews is her
rodeo-themed, fast-paced "The Fall".

Deskins hasn't been working entirely on her own though. She's also used the internet
to make valuable Nashville contacts and have opportunities to work with several of
Nashville's best musicians including Jason Roller (Joe Diffie guitarist), Jeff
Carson (Curb Records) and Weston Hays (Big & Rich backup vocalist) among many
others.

"As an independent artist you have to take it upon yourself to get things done. It
doesn't matter how you get it done, just that you do it. No one will do it for you,"
says Deskins when asked about how and why she decided to use the internet as a means
to further her career.

Steph began writing songs at the age of 8 years old; the same time she began singing
and teaching herself to play guitar. "I had no concept of songwriters. I just knew
the artists I saw on TV were playing and singing and wondered where the songs came
from. I figured they must be doing it themselves so that's what I thought I had to
do."

Deskins continues to make strides in her career working with local musicians and
those that are in Nashville and elsewhere. She says, "The internet is a very
valuable tool for success if you use it correctly."
