New Linux+ training from SkillsTrain

Released on: October 10, 2007, 11:25 am

Press Release Author: Mary Stuart-Miller

Industry: Computers

Press Release Summary: Europe's largest computer training organisation, SkillsTrain,
launches new Linux distance learning course, `Linux+'

Press Release Body: To meet the growing popularity of enterprise-ready platforms
and the need for trained Linux professionals, SkillsTrain, Europe's largest computer
training organisation, has launched a new Linux distance learning course, `Linux+',
encompassing the CompTIA Linux+ examination.

Because of its flexible nature, students can study the course around existing work
commitments to achieve a commercially desirable skill-validation qualification. By
enhancing their accredited knowledge of Linux they're also giving themselves the
edge in the IT jobs market.

SkillsTrain Principal Myra Smallman said "For some the qualification is a validation
of existing skill, while others can study and develop to achieve it, working from a
relatively low knowledge or experience base.

In an industry which lacks an overall accreditation body, the CompTIA Linux+ is a
widely recognised certification, which validates both skill and competency in Linux,
which is why it was chosen as the accreditation standard for the new SkillsTrain
Linux+ course".

The CompTIA Linux+ credential certifies the user has fundamental management
experience of Linux systems from the command line, can demonstrate knowledge of user
administration, understand file permissions, software configurations, and management
of Linux-based clients, server systems and security.
