The Adventures of Mr Bear and Friends

Released on: October 23, 2007, 4:09 am

Press Release Author: Authorhouse (publisher)

Industry: Entertainment

Press Release Summary: New Illustrated Book Charms Readers With Amusing Animal Tales

Press Release Body: COLCHESTER, England -

Author Patricia Toulson follows the adventures and misadventures of a
delightful group of animal friends in her new book, Tales of Mr. Bear & His
Friends.
In the first tale, Mr. Bear is a friendly but naughty bear with a big appetite.
When he concocts a sneaky scheme to have each of his friends bring him a cake, the
results are disastrous. A series of sweets shows up at his doorstep, ranging from a
chocolate cake with sprinkles on top to a marshmallow cake topped with jellybeans.
But will the clever Mr. Bear be able to digest all the goodies that come his way?
In another story, Scotty the Dog just wants to dig a hole for his bone, but he
keeps digging in all the wrong places. But when he digs in his friends' yards, he
becomes a problem.
Then suddenly he heard some shouting,
"That's where my new grass seed is sprouting!
Scotty the Dog, you can't dig there!"
Once more poor Scotty jumped high in the air.
"You must find somewhere else!" growled Mr. Bear.
Stories about Laura the Lamb, Tabby the Cat and Mrs. Hare round out Patricia's
collection of tales.
Patricia's stories are accompanied by full-colour illustrations created by the
author herself, and when coupled with her charming rhyme scheme, Tales of Mr. Bear
and Friends is sure to become a favourite for children of all ages.
Patricia is married with two sons, three grandchildren and several great-nephews
and nieces. She was employed for many years by a charity that supported families
with children under the age of five. During that time, she discovered a love for
children's stories. "Children's favourite stories contain elements of someone
else's naughtiness, forgetfulness or even disappointment, but of course everything
comes out well by the end," Patricia says. She hopes that her book will encourage
participation in reading by children, and hopes that they will find the little
surprises she has left for them in each illustration.
