Wadsworth to distribute LightPointe overground outdoor wireless solutions

Press Release Body: London, 15th October 2007: Wadsworth, one of the UK's leading distributors of networking and cabling products, has today announced that it will again be distributing outdoor wireless solutions from LightPointe Inc (www.lightpointe.com). Following the company restructure, LightPointe has redesigned its next generation products FlightLite and FlightStrata to increase performance and reduce unit costs.
LightPointe's outdoor wireless solutions and customer installations connect two or more buildings in classic LAN-to-LAN backbone configuration with high-bandwidth throughput up to 1.25Gbps. Buildings are linked using beams of light as the primary data path, making LightPointe's wireless solutions powerful yet simple to install.
FlightLite and FlightStrata are quicker, easier and less disruptive to install than traditional network cabling. Wireless networks can link buildings above ground, without the need for site planning as cable does not need to be laid underground making them the ideal solution for campus, flexible or temporary sites. Whilst significantly cheaper than leased lines, interception of optical wireless transmissions is virtually impossible making the wireless networks completely secure.
