Yahoo.co.in, Shaadi.com and Orkut were among the winners at Web18's first Genius of
the Web Awards. Awards were presented in 14 categories, cutting across a diverse
section of the medium and included categories for best matrimonial site, best
consumer ISP and others.

The awards function was accompanied by a discussion on 'Web 2.0 - Bubble or Boom' by
an eminent panel comprising Avnish Bajaj, Co-Founder and MD of Matrix Partners
India, Vishnu Induri from Axill Affiliated Networks, and Shailesh Rao from Google
India.

Yahoo.co.in, Shaadi.com and Orkut.com were adjudged winners of Best Portal, Best
Matrimonial Portal and Best Social Networking Website, respectively. Other winners
include Jetairways.com for Best Airlines Website; Icicibank.com for Best Banking
Website; Icicidirect.com for Best Brokers Website; Bharti Airtel for Best Business
ISP and Best Consumer ISP Broadband; Educationtimes.com for Best Education Website;
Indiatimes.com for Best Email Service Provider-Business; and Gmail.com for Best
Email Service Provider-Consumer.

The awards for Best E-Commerce Site for Online Gaming went to Yahoo.co.in; while
Shaadi.com and Irctc.co.in won the awards for Best E-Commerce Site-Matrimonials and
Best Government and PSU Website, respectively. The others winners include
Tajhotels.com for Best Hotels Website; Licindia.com for Best Insurance Website;
Reliancemutual.com for Best Mutual Funds Website; ebay.in Best Trade Website;
Rel.co.in for Best Utility Website; and Yahoo.co.in for Best User's Choice.
