Skype Going Mobile via Mobile Network + Internet Telephony

Skype phone is a milestone in industry, signaling that telecommunication operators
are answering challenges from the World Wide Web filed, and the integration of
mobile network and Internet telephony is developing with irresistible force.

The Skype phone, developed by 3 and Skype in partnership with Qualcomm, uses
Qualcomm's Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless (BREW) platform to enable Skype
to work with core handset features such as address book and messaging. It is made by
Chinese manufacturer, indicating that Chinese mobile phone manufacturing industry is
prepared for the mobile network + Internet telephony tendency.

The PT/EXPO COMM China 2007, a mobile technology and products exposition just
concluded in Beijing, is also a manifestation of the tendency. At the EXPO, many
exhibitors highlighted GPS mobile phones, bringing a clear signal for the whole
industry-the integration of GPS navigation and mobile phone is gaining popularity
and importance. Amoi president Li Xiaozhong gave a demonstration of Amoi's newest
GPS intelligence mobile phone N800 and N810. The two handsets use Microsoft Windows
Mobile 6 as the operating system. Dopod also brought two products based on the same
operating system--P800 and P860 mobile phone.
It is believed that, with the development of mobile network and internet telephony,
more and more mobile operators will allow Skype on their phone networks and great
convenience will be brought into our daily life with the integration of mobile
network and internet telephony.
