NEW YORK ESTATES IN FLORIDA TO CROSS THE BLOCK IN CRYSTAL RIVER

Released on: December 21, 2007, 3:53 am

Press Release Author: Fred and Gail Taylor

Industry: Internet & Online

Press Release Summary: Professional Appraisers & Liquidators will host a massive
three day estate sale on January 11,12 and 13 of antiques, fine art and collectibles
from local estates originally from New York

Press Release Body: When many retirees pack up and head to Florida for sunny
retirement they often bring the treasured items they have accumulated over many
years. Some soon decide to "downsize" after moving and the results can make for
interesting auctions. Charlie Fudge, owner of Professional Appraisers & Liquidators
in Crystal River, has been working for over six months with a number of local area
estates originally from New York to assemble the inventory for a three day sale of
antiques, fine arts and collectibles to be held without reserve.

The eclectic inventory will include a wide variety of Victorian period furniture
and a great selection of 19th and 20th century art glass including Fenton baskets
and lamps, Mary Gregory, Moser (pair of portrait vases), Carnival Glass, Heisey,
Cameo Glass, Victorian bride's baskets, Vaseline Glass and brilliant period cut
glass. Included in the porcelain selection will be hand painted Limoges, Majolica,
Flow Blue, RS Prussia, Nippon and a hand painted 19th century porcelain spitoon.
Pottery from Weller (jardiniere and pedestal in Baldin pattern), Roseville, Hull,
Van Briggle lamps and vases, four Boehm bird plaques and hundreds of Royal Doulton
and Hummel figurines will cross the block along with silver from Towle (Rambling
Rose service for six), Gorham (Buttercup service for eight and English Gadroon
sterling service for twelve), Oneida (Statehouse sterling service for six) and a
number Kirk/Steiff repousse serving pieces.

Keeping time during the sale won't be problem with any of the dozen or so gold
pocket watches, gingerbread clocks, a French dome clock, a gilded bronze French
figural clock and several more timepieces being offered. Keeping the peace won't be
a problem either with a small collection of guns including an early 19th century
matched pair of dueling pistols, numbered 1 and 2 and World War II German Luger in
fine condition with clip and original holster along with several other antique
pistols.

Art will be an important part of the sale (over 75 lots) with a nice collection of
paintings and prints including prints by Maxfield Parrish, Wallace Nutting and
Louis Icart, artist signed pastels by Robert Chandler and paintings by such listed
artists as Toby Binder, Axel Einarsson, Lottie Watkins and Sanley Degraff plus an
oil on board by one of Florida's famous Highwaymen, R. L. Lewis.

The prime selection of Victorian furniture will include a late 19th century marble
top French sideboard made of walnut, kingwood and walnut burl with ormolu mounts
and beveled mirrors, a walnut and burl Renaissance Revival hall tree with umbrella
racks and drip pans, several pieces of ebonized Aesthetic Movement furniture, an
usual flame mahogany Rococo Revival couch and a fine late century bowfront oak
china cabinet.

The sale will begin Friday January 11 at 6:00PM and will continue Saturday and
Sunday at 1:00PM. Preview is Friday 10:00AM - 6:00PM and Saturday and Sunday
10:00AM - 1:00PM. The Sunday portion of the sale will be carried live online by
Proxibid.
