Press release Valuri de Matase, December 9, 2007

Released on: December 9, 2007, 9:51 am

Press Release Author: Dan Trifan - Valuri de Matase agent

Industry: Entertainment

Press Release Summary: THE 2ND CD OF VALURI DE MATASE \"A YEAR'S DAY\" IS HERE!

Press Release Body: The flute and guitar duo Valuri De Matase is announcing the
release of their 2nd CD "A YEAR'S DAY".
Three very special guests join flutist Terry Ellen Christophersen and guitarist
Mircea Trifan on this CD.

Clarinetist Marie-Éve Simard lends extraordinary virtuosity to the 4 opening Eastern
European pieces. Her vast performing experience includes many other ensembles such
as l'Orchestre Symphonique de Québec.

Vocalist Gabriela Danila joins the group in an original version of "Waves of the
Danube"- Valurile Dunarii, by Romanian composer Iosif Ivanovici - sung in Romanian.
She also sings two beautiful Romanian Christmas songs.

At 14 years old, Ariane Roberto - the daughter of flutist Terry Ellen - brings an
incredibly mature voice to Canada's oldest Christmas Carol! The Huron Carol was
written in 1643 and remains one of the most beautiful carols ever written. Ariane
sings in French on this masterpiece by Jean de Brebeuf.

The music on this CD includes many folk pieces from Romania, as well as from Russia,
Slovakia, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Canada and a solo/improvisation piece
performed by Mircea.
The artistic concept behind the selection of pieces and its sequence is the natural
cycle of a day, or of a year. Each piece is another stage in the advancement of the
early morning / spring, towards the late evening / end of the year by way of
different experiences, feelings, and actions.

The CD "A Year's Day" will be available at "Sillons Le Disquaire" music shop in
Québec City, at www.cdbaby.com and soon on other digital music distribution sites
(iTunes, mp3.com, etc.)

For registered radio stations and DJs the CD's 17 tracks are available for download
at www.radiodirectx.com
