Lower 40 Records Celebrates its First Anniversary with Party at Smith`s Olde Bar

Released on: January 18, 2008, 10:03 am

Press Release Author: Lower 40 Records

Industry: Entertainment

Press Release Summary: Lower 40 artists Chris Unck and Bucktown Kickback are
headlining the event which will be held in the Atlanta Room of Smith\'s Olde Bar on
February 8th.

Press Release Body: On February 8, Atlanta's own Lower 40 Records is throwing a
party to celebrate its first anniversary in the music business. The event will be
held at Smith's Olde Bar and will be headlined by Lower 40 artists and friends
including Chris Unck, Tim O'Donovan, and Bucktown Kickback.

Lower 40 Records is Kerry Gibson's child and was conceived by her passion for music
and desire to leave her fingerprint on the music scene in Atlanta. Has the first
year been glamorous? Nope. Is it a cash cow? Not by any stretch of the
imagination. Right now, it's a hopelessly optimistic company with just enough
cajones to stick around until something awesome happens. In the mean time, they
have just completed their first year of existence and are throwing a party to
rejoice in the fact that they are still here and progressing.

The first project for Lower 40 was to release the Wrinkle Neck Mules' third album,
The Wicks Have Met. Upon its release in February of 2007, the album received very
positive feedback in the United States and Canada. After playing SXSW in March,
they released the album in Europe through Blue Rose Records.

In September of 2007, Bucktown Kickback released their second album, Lost in Our Own
Hometown. It was their first collaboration with Lower 40 and has recognized on the
AMA charts and college radio. Much like the Wrinkle Neck Mules, BTKB's success
provided a stepping stone for growth. So, when Chris Unck approached Lower 40
through mutual friends in the Beggar's Guild, the courtship was quick and the
marriage became official in October of 2007.

As an added bonus, the anniversary party will serve as a proper record release for
Chris Unck's new album, Country Roads and Love.

Lower 40 Records is located in the Flatiron Building at 84 Peachtree Street in
Atlanta, Georgia.
