Hazmat Training Comes to Cary

Released on: February 19, 2008, 8:13 am

Press Release Author: Environmental Resource Center

Industry: Environment

Press Release Summary: When workers handle hazardous waste or ship hazardous
materials, training is not just a good idea, it's the law. According to the EPA,
workers who handle hazardous waste must be trained annually, and the federal DOT
requires that workers involved in the shipment of hazardous materials be trained at
least every three years. Individuals who are expected to stop, contain, and clean
up releases of hazardous materials are required to have 8 hours of annual refresher
training. For those who must develop and implement plans to comply with OSHA's
Hazardous Communication Standard, there is a training course available. Finally,
while not mandated, anyone responsible for conducting audits, preparing facilities
for an audit, or wanting to reduce penalties via EPA's privilege program, will
benefit from the Environmental Audits course.

Environmental Resource Center, the leading provider of environmental and safety
training, will present the training in Cary at its headquarters, 101 Center Pointe
Dr. on March 4 - 7, 2008.

Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response 8-Hr. Refresher Course will be
held on March 4.

DOT and RCRA Annual Update and Refresher will be held March 5.

OSHA Hazard Communication Standard Training for Trainers will be held on March 6.

mismanagement of hazardous waste.1

Registration for the training is available by calling 800-537-2372 or at
