Press Release Body: February 20 - SKEEBO Films announced today their upcoming release, \"Victim of Circumstance\" will premiere at the 2008 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival March 3rd at the Village East Theater. Showtime starts at 6pm. This emotionally charged feature looks to build on the awareness of domestic violence and the effects that it has on the communities around the country. This is the first feature film for Independent director and producer, Troy Whitehurst aka Spike Spillberg, host of the Blogtalkradio show \"Spike Spillberg\" Live From the Director's Chair. He is the driving force behind SKEEBO Films and is passionate about sharing this dramatic true story with the world. SKEEBO Films has produced several short films that have screened at various festivals in the US.
Radio personality, Tone X, from WPEG Power 98 FM's Morning Maddhouse joins the cast and is here to make a statement against domestic violence. As a nationally recognized comedian on BET's Comic View, Tone X notes that domestic violence is no laughing matter. Having grown up in the midst of an abusive household, Tone X feels compelled to support the education and prevention of domestic violence through his work. When asked what inspires his activism, Tone X confided, \"I've seen how violence, both physical and emotional can damage a healthy marriage or relationship; I know firsthand how detrimental this can be.\"
The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival was founded in 1993 and has been recognized by the film and entertainment industry as one of the leading film events on the independent festival circuit \"It is a rewarding feeling to be an Official Selection to this years NYIIFVF event in New York City, we are making cinema history\" says Whitehurst.. \"We hope that people's lives will be touched by this project and those affected will reach out for help through the appropriate channels when confronted with a domestic violence situation,\" added Whitehurst.
