Inlite Research announces ClearImage DL ID Driver License Barcode reader for compliance with the Real ID act

Released on: March 27, 2008, 5:02 am

Press Release Author: Inlite Research

Industry: Software

Press Release Summary: Read Driver License & ID barcodes from scanned images with
full decoding of data

Press Release Body: Sunnyvale, CA - March 20, 2008 - Inlite Research Inc, a leading
worldwide provider of production quality tools for data capture, today announced the
general availability of the ClearImage DL/ID. The Real ID act, and many other
identity systems around the world, specify the use of PDF417 barcodes on identity
documents and driver licenses, in order to make them reliably decodable by computer
systems. The barcode on the documents carries information encoded in accordance
with the AAMVA specifications. Many applicaitons such as age verification, access
control or tracking, payee verification, and account opening require access to some
of the data on the license. ClearImage DL/ID applies image enhancement procedures
to accurately read the barcode on the card. Any IT developer, without special
expertise in image handling can now add driver license or ID card information
extraction to their application.

The engine provides

. .NET support for managed code
. Recognition of all the barcodes on the card
. Support for PDF, TIFF, JPG and many other input file formats.
. Delivers raw data for parsing by the application
. Delivers parsed fields in accordance with the relevant version of the AAMVA
specification.
. Source code examples for VB.NET and C#

\"Customers approached us with the need to read driver licenses in order to enter
correct and verified information into their applications\" said Gene Manheim,
Inlite's president and chief technology officer. \"ClearImage DL/ID offers a simple
interface with powerful automation which means that developers can focus on their
application and end user requirements, instead of the image processing details.\"

ClearImage DL/ID recognizes poor quality license images. For details on specific
features please refer to

cost $575 or $862 per computer (quad core). Inlite provides complete, live support
for one year after purchase.
