Inlite Research announces the Visual Barcode Designer - non experts can design barcodes with assured performance

Released on: April 14, 2008, 2:37 am

Press Release Author: Inlite Research

Industry: Software

Press Release Summary:

Press Release Body: Sunnyvale, CA - March 20, 2008 - Inlite Research Inc, today
rolled out the Barcode for Documents suite including the Visual Barcode Designer
(VBD). The expanding market for business process automation requires barcodes to be
designed and placed on outgoing documents, separators, cover pages and business
forms. Until now, barcode design required the user to define cryptic parameters
whose purpose and values were a mystery. Worse yet, the user had to go through trial
and error to achieve readable barcodes, yet they were not assured of continuing
success.

Business processes that depend on barcodes cannot rely on haphazard performance.
They require solid readability. With 15 years experience in barcode recognition,
Inlite developed the VBD, to enable users who have no barcode expertise to design
rock solid barcodes. The application does this by soliciting relevant details about
the intended use of the document, the area dedicated to the barcode and the output
method, then it provides a symbol that can be placed in the target area. The entire
process is easily modified as requirements change.

VBD works in conjunction with the Barcode For Documents Runtime Engine (BFD). In
production only the BFD runtime engine needs to be installed. BFD is provided with a
configuration string and runtime data to generate the specific runtime barcode. The
suite supports:

. DataMatrix and PDF417 2D barcodes
. Code 128, Code 93 and Code 39 1D barcodes
. Automatic data compression for large data sets
. Source code for adding barcodes to PDF, MS Word, and HTML documents

\"Our customers needed a simple, flexible and super reliable tool for creating
barcodes for their business processes,\" said Gene Manheim, Inlite's president.
\"Visual Barcode Designer and the BFD engines make it possible for any developer to
create assured quality processes that will work with fax or scanned documents,
allowing them to concentrate on the essentials of their business rather than the
techno trivia of the barcode features.\"

VBD and BFD can be downloaded at www.inliteresearch.com. Runtime licenses for VBD
are $795. BFD license is $399. Inlite provides tech support for one year with the
license.
