Do It For Dad This Father`s Day

Released on: May 30, 2008, 12:49 pm

Press Release Author: Debbie Lynn Butler

Industry: Consumer Services

Press Release Summary: Gifts of Service for Older Parents

Press Release Body: (EXTON, PENNSYLVANIA) May 30, 2008 - Search no further for the
perfect gift for a mature adult. Gift giving for Father's Day, the third Sunday in
June, has just become easier. Forget the Father's Day tie or slippers. Give a gift
of service instead. Virtual assistance gift certificates are now available for
Father's Day.

A conversation with her own dad led Debbie Lynn Butler, founder of AVA Professional
Support Services, to explore virtual assistant (VA) services that benefit seniors.
"I spend my day assisting small business owners and authors with proofreading, copy
writing and editing, and various administrative and Web-related tasks. My dad needs
similar services for different reasons. Instead of a proofreader, he needs someone
to read the fine print on official documents. Instead of a copy writer, he wants a
recorder of his story. Instead of an administrative assistant, he could use
reminders to send birthday cards and help with Internet research," commented Ms.
Butler. "This is why we reintroduced virtual assistance gift certificates for
Father's Day."

In an informal survey, time and attention were high on the list of gifts of service.
Other contenders were adult care, auto upkeep, computer maintenance, errand running,
grocery shopping, help paying bills, home repairs, house cleaning, meal preparation,
transportation, and yard work. Those who are unable to provide these services
personally for loved ones because of busy schedules or distance may choose to have a
VA research available non-virtual service providers.

Whatever choice you make, do it for dad this Father's Day.
