Press Release Body:
Divorces have become a common phenomenon today, with every second marriage breaking
up within the first year. It was not like this earlier. Divorce was condoned and not
looked at favorable, in fact in some states, it was considered illegal.
With divorces becoming more common and frequent, records of divorces have begun
being stored just as other birth and marriage records.

The civil authorities maintained these divorce records. In the United States, the
individual states are responsible.
The county where the divorce is granted keeps the records in the United States.

These records contain all the information about the spouse's name, date of marriage,
place of marriage, ages of both the husband and wife, names of the children, birth
dates of the children, property owned, and date of divorce and also the reason for
the divorce. Some records may also have their credit card numbers and tax returns
as well as the alimony paid (if it is paid.)
These records are found online and there are several ways of finding the divorce
records.

You can find them by doing a search with the location or category and may even use a
public record locator. They can also be searched with the names and address of the
current spouse as well as ex-spouse. It is easier to find the information if you
provide as much information as possible.
Divorce records are not considered confidential in the United States and can be
accessed easily by paying a fee. The responsibility of issuing certified copies
lies with the State Center for Health Statistics. All the divorce related state
records are stored with the National Center for Health Statistics.
The divorce certificates can also be ordered using a credit card and the timeframe
within which you get these records varies from state to state.
