Released on: May 16, 2008, 8:24 am

Press Release Author: KolbeCo Marketing

Industry: Construction

Press Release Summary: Kirkwood Remodeler works to adopt green practices and green
projects

Press Release Body: May 15, 2008: KIRKWOOD, Mo. - While the overall housing sector
is experiencing a downturn, the green-building market continues to thrive, according
to the National Association of Home Builders. The NAHB said green building is
forecast to grow from a $7.4 billion industry 2005 to $38 billion by 2010.

As consumers inquire more about green-building options, Tom Riggs of Riggs
Construction & Design decided to expand his expertise and knowledge in green
building. He recently received his Certified Green Professional designation from the
NAHB.

The NAHB course, known as "Green Building for Building Professionals," taught
participants how to incorporate green-building principles into homes without driving
up the cost of construction. As a Certified Green Professional, Riggs Construction &
Design will be able to incorporate green-building, energy-efficient and
water-conservation components to remodeling projects; strategize ways to meet,
exceed and verify green-building requirements; and work with homeowners to solidify
their role in the operation and maintenance of their green home.

According to a 2007 survey by the NAHB, more than 90 percent of residential builders
and developers were interested in participating in a voluntary green-building
certification program. Another real estate survey that year predicted that consumers
were expected to double their spending in green products in 2008, totaling $500
billion annually.

"Residential green building is no longer a trend, it is the future of building,"
said Tom Riggs. "Green homes provide people with lower maintenance, better indoor
air quality and better long-term value. It makes sense to offer our customers the
highest quality and most efficient resources for their home remodeling needs. Riggs
clients can now say 'Yes I Can!' to green remodeling."
