Civil War Armed Confederate Soldier Ambrotype NC
Up for auction is a clear glass ninth plate ambrotype of an armed Confederate civil war soldier from North Carolina. He is wearing the distinctively NC officers jacket with the wide black officers shoulder tabs. Image is published in: A Country Divided: "Images of America's Warring Son's". I was told when I purchased the image that the last name of the soldier was Conley but they could not recall what his first name was. He has a small pocket revolver in his hand and a bowie knife in his belt.
