Leftfield Design

Released on: June 24, 2008, 8:16 am

Press Release Author: Collective ID

Industry: Internet & Online

Press Release Summary: Edinburgh web design company Collective ID has been applauded
for the launch of its new portfolio website today.

Press Release Body: Collective ID has long championed ethical businesses and
charities in Scotland, and has been in the vanguard of extending Web 2.0
technologies to social enterprises and voluntary sector public services that are
often restricted by tight budgets.

Despite that, it has still taken a while to get round to updating their own site,
and it is with an apparent sense of relief that Managing Director Mark Steven said
"At last I can say to clients 'Do as we say AND what we do'. It seems to be the
perennial problem of design agencies that their own websites are neglected and out
of date, with a perpetual sense of the temporary about them."

The new web design is really like nothing else that we've seen on the web. It makes
use of carefully optimised, full screen backgrounds, foreground transparency and an
exploded grid. Think Mondrian goes Web 2.0 and you've pretty much got the concept.

The website showcases work for some exciting clients, notably Equal Exchange, one of
the best fair-trade companies around, and Gross Max, the UK's leading creatives in
landscape architecture.
