Sit back and relax this summer with Blue Haven Pools special Renovations Division

Released on: June 27, 2008, 6:20 pm

Press Release Author: Blue Haven Pools

Industry: Construction

Press Release Summary: The demand is so strong that Blue Haven Pools, one of
Australia's largest pool builders, has set up a special renovations division. And
they are being inundated with requests!

Press Release Body: Swimming Pool renovations are becoming extremely popular with
exciting new products and streamlined building techniques putting a new face on old
pools.

This is particularly so with people purchasing old-style home in fashionable suburbs
and 'inheriting' a 20 or 30 year-old pool in the process.

The trend is to convert an unimaginative square or rectangular swimming pool, often
with cracks in the concrete lining and chipped tiles into a modern design, complete
with the latest finishes and given a themed surround to enhance the new look of the
pool.

The demand is so strong that Blue Haven Pools, one of Australia's largest pool
builders, has set up a special renovations division. And they are being inundated
with requests!

Blue Haven Pools Renovations manager Remonda Martinez said in the 1960s and 70s,
pools were unusually large, taking up all available space that a backyard allowed.

"Today's swimming pool is more practical, considerably smaller with a spa attached
and large paved and landscaped entertaining area to provide a resort style look"

In the latest pool renovation, theming is very much in vogue - the Balinese style
pagoda look; Japanese landscaping; adobe-style Mexican designs or the popular Tuscan
look from Northern Italy.

This modern theming approach can also include tiled or hand-painted murals as a
backdrop for the pool setting.

"It's a totally new swimming pool look but one that is providing a modern lifestyle
and a new energy for people wanting something that is different from the
traditional" Remonda Martinez said.

She said a renovation can make a dramatic impact. New finishes are helping to give a
sparkling new look to an old swimming pool. These finishes include glass beads set
in concrete to give a glass-lined look; quartz interior and smooth coloured
Micropebble; the accent on sandstone or terracotta for copings and paving, rather
than the old-style pavers, bricks or pebblecrete.

Waterfalls and pool heating are also popular features in modern pool renovations.
