Beginners Guide to Golf

Released on: August 17, 2008, 1:34 pm

Press Release Author: Michael Brogan

Industry:

Press Release Summary: A signpost for the beginner on the road to becoming a low
handicap golfer.

Press Release Body: Beginners Guide to Golf

Surrey 17th Aug 2008. Michael Brogan launches a new blog on golf for the beginner.
Whether the objective is to play competitively or socially, golf should be a
pleasurable experience and not a frustrating ordeal.

Without a route-map the road to becoming a competent club player can be a long,
lonely and expensive journey for the novice. The starting point to building an
all-round golf game is to lay down solid foundations.

Golf is technically challenging. "Its not easy...then again it's not difficult"
providing the basic skills of golf are learnt. The advice is not to take advice
unless it's from a club professional. Lessons need not be expensive and the
investment will be re-paid many times over.

The biggest investment should be the time spent on the practice areas. The goal is
to develop a simple, repeatable swing with a constant tempo. Avoid forcing the
stroke. Golf is "more about timing and technique than brut strength".

The newly launched Beginners Guide to Golf provides practical advice for those
starting out in golf to ensure that the transition into a low handicapper is an
enjoyable experience.
