Press Release Body: Dublin, OH--According to the US Fire Administration, dryer fires
account for an average of $15,000 dryer fires annually. Rick Gutridge, owner of
Dryer Vent Wizard of Central Ohio said, "Failure to properly maintain dryer vents is
a major contributor to clothes dryer fires." Rick Gutridge is franchise
owner/operator of Dryer Vent Wizard (DVW), Dry Clothes, Safe Homes, a home service
franchise based in Pickerington, Ohio serving all of central Ohio. Mr. Gutridge
purchased the rights to franchise DVW in August, 2006.


In joining efforts with the NFPA, Dryer Vent Wizard is providing advice to consumers
to minimize the risk of dryer fires. They advise consumers to be sure the dryer
vent systems are up to code with the city, state and manufacturer by replacing any
plastic or foil vent systems with semi-rigid or solid metal venting. Consumers
should be sure screen lint trays are clean before and after drying each load of
laundry.

Rick makes sure his customers understand the warning signs to look for, including
clothes taking more than one cycle to dry, especially jeans and towels, no visible
lint on the lint screen, dryer repeatedly stops during a cycle, clothing having a
moldy smell after a dry cycle, and clothing being very hot after a dry cycle.

Prior to becoming a Dryer Vent Wizard franchisee, Gutridge spent 26 years in the IT
industry, most recently with AOL. He has a B.S. C.I.S. engineering degree from The
Ohio State University. He also has an M.S. in Engineering Management from NTU.
