NUI partnering with Durham University on SynergyNet project

Press Release Summary: Natural User Interface is partnering with Durham University
in England to implement multi- touch solutions within the educational sector.

Skellefteå, Sweden, Natural User Interface is partnering with Durham University in
England on a 3 year, 1.5 GBP governmentally funded project to implement multi- touch
solutions within the educational sector.

NUI will be delivering four customized multi-touch table solutions to start with
this project. Goal of the project is to integrate an innovative multi-touch
collaborative environment concept in class rooms in England.

The SynergyNet system has a teacher's console to monitor what each child or group of
children is working on. The system will be tested in primary and secondary schools
and in higher education over the next four years.The goal is to improve the
collaboration between students and thier teacheers. This new initiative enables
Natural User Interface to actively participate and bring forth the multi-touch
technology and its benefits to the education sector.

Peter Bomark at NUI, assigned to concept and design the project states:“This is a
great opportunity to bring NUI's exiting technology into use in the real world. The
use of multi-touch so far has mostly been proof of concept or showing off, this
project will change that.”

NUI CEO Harry van der Veen stated: “I am satisfied that the support of NUI while
pitching for this governmental project funded contributed to acquiring the project.
The people at Durham University have very interesting ideas on how to improve the
learning environment by implementing a multi-user collaborative environment. We are
proud to be part of this project.”
