Originally established as a teaching studio in 2001, the Academy of Guitar Studies(tm)
has taught hundreds of guitars students in Southern California of all ages and
levels. One of the difficulties discovered by AGS was the ability for students to
find quality instructional material beyond the basic beginner books at any of their
local retailers or online. "You can find guitar methods 1,2,3 anywhere and on every
corner but the minute you need a book such as the three volumes on harmony written
by George Van Eps, it seems that no one has a clue as to what you are asking for or
they don't want to go through the hassle of getting it for you. This is what
prompted us to create this website. It is a no frills, simple site that you can go
to in order to find what you need, whatever your skill level or style may be" says
