Author: Release Travel
Industry: Travel

Release Travel, a leading travel agent that specialises in stag and hen weekends says that its sales for 2009 so far have been unprecedented.

Downturn or not, weddings are still going ahead and Release Travel has found that this particular area of group travel is still strong and bucking the present trends within the travel market.

Daniel Landen, Managing Director said “We have seen an increase in the numbers of people going on each weekend from 13.24 (people per group) to an average group size of 13.67 (people per group), this is going against the industry standard and proving that a weekend away with a group of friends is the perfect way to forget about the tough world we are all in today.”

He went on to add “We have also seen a strong number of stag weekends travelling further a field with over 28% of our bookings travelling outside of the UK. There has even been a sharp increase of stag and hen parties looking to travel as far a field as Las Vegas and Dubai.”

Some of the UK’s most popular destinations for hen weekends include Bournemouth, Newcastle and London. “It is also proving difficult to book specialist activities at the last minute so early booking for 2010 is a must”, further statistics from Release Travel’s Management reveal.

With the stag and hen industry looking like it will be going from strength to strength, Release Travel are planning to provide some exciting new activities and destinations to help achieve that ever important weekend away.
