Acquisition Extends MCG Product Line to include NEC Systems.
URBANA, IL and DANVILLE, IL January 29, 2010 – Midwest Communications Group, Inc. . (MCG) and Digital Communications Inc. (DCI) today announced that the companies have signed a definitive agreement under which (MCG) will acquire the assets of privately held DCI, a Factory Authorized Dealer and Authorized Distributor of NEC Telephone systems. Digital Communications is a strategic addition to MCG's Business Division. The acquisition will extend MCG's product inventory and increase the company's client base. NEC carries complete communications solutions that focus on the needs of intermediate-sized businesses, especially businesses that are expanding both in physical growth and in communications requirements.
MCG will build upon DCI's customer relationships by offering an expanded line of communications solutions including voice and data networks, internet access, computer networking, wireless networking and bill auditing. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed but most of the DCI staff will be re-hired and the new division will operate under the DBA of Digital Communications MCG.
