Hotels-Paris.co.uk - Paris's La Biodiversite Urbaine Offers To Teach People Something New

Released on: September 14, 2010, 7:22 am
Author: Hotels Paris Ltd
Industry: Travel

Travellers heading to hotels in Paris this autumn could clear some space in their schedule to learn something about nature at La Biodiversite Urbaine.

It opened to the public on September 1st 2010 and will be available to view at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle until the end of the year, with attendees needing to head for the Jardin des Plantes to see the items.

The exhibition aims to bring people's attention back to animals that can be found in urban areas and pose some vital questions.

"Who are the small animals that live alongside us in the cities? How do they live? What ecological functions [do] they have?" asked the organisers.

Among the animals people can expect to find out about at this family-friendly exhibition are insects, bats, hedgehogs, butterflies and all sorts of small mammals that share urban environments with humans.

Visitors can view this temporary collection by purchasing a ticket for the Menagerie, which is the part of the museum where the display can be found.

Passes to enter the Jardin des Plantes cost €8 (£6.60), although there are concessions available.

Opening hours are from 09:00 to 18:00 local time every day except Sunday, when the museum stays open until 18:30.

For more information on this event visit the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle website or contact the venue on +33 01 40 79 37 94.
