Industry: Travel

An exhibition on Aboriginal Australians has opened at one of Rome's Vatican Museums and is entitled Rituals of Life.

Many guests booked into 5 star hotels in Rome may be planning on visiting the Catholic attractions and this new collection offers another reason to do so.

The display will be available to view throughout 2011 at the Missionary Ethnological Museum, after opening on October 16th 2010.

Attendees will be able to see all manner of items relating to the culture and history of Aboriginal Australians, with a focus on their spirituality.

"The works of art on display ... range from the simple object used in daily life to ceremonial decorations, from musical instruments to the spear used during hunting, from painting on portable stones to containers made of decorated egg shells," the organisers explained.

Passes for the Vatican Museums cost €15 (£12.65) and include a visit to this exhibition, with the arts space recommending that attendees book online in advance to avoid queues on the day.

Tickets also include entry into the Sistine Chapel.

Opening times at the complex are from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00 local time, with the building closed on Sundays.

To reach the venue by public transport, take Line A of the Metro to San Giovanni.

For more information on this event, visit the Vatican Museums website.
