LateRooms.com - Stomp on Down to Dinosaurs Alive in Adelaide

Released on: November 18, 2010, 5:41 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

An exhibition charting the rise and fall of dinosaurs is coming to Adelaide and will run throughout next month.

Dinosaurs Alive will open at the city's Event and Exhibition Centre on November 20th 2010 and will remain at the venue until January 21st 2011, only closing on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

The A$3.5 million display sees the ancient creatures brought to life through the use of animatronics, which is sure to make for an exciting experience for anyone heading to the installation from some of the cheap hotels Adelaide has available.

Eight different dinosaurs - the Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, Gasosaurus, Huayangosaurus, Spinosaurus, Proceratops and the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex - have been recreated by the organisers.

However, the event is much more than just a visual treat - it is also a useful learning experience, featuring a vast array of information on subjects such as climate change, Australian flora and fauna, extinction theories and fossils.

Meanwhile, would-be archaeologists can try their hand at digging their own fossils in the activity room.

"It's the must see attraction this summer," the organisers remarked.

Admission costs A$18 for adults and A$13 for five to 14-year-olds, although family passes are available for A$55.

The exhibition is open each day from 09:30 to 17:00 local time.

For more information on this display, visit the Adelaide Event and Exhibition Centre website or contact the organisers on (+61) 8 6420 2038.

LateRooms.com recommends an array of Adelaide accommodation, such as the Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide.
