Art enthusiasts should be sure to check out the Sculptures in the Garden display at Ubud's Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) before it closes during their stay in Bali this month.

The outdoor exhibition, which is the work of Adi Bachmann, will open on December 21st 2010, with events listing site Bali Discovery warning it will come to an end on New Year's Eve.

In creating the 63 colourful sculptures positioned in various places around the museum's gardens, Bachmann enlisted the help of a team of professional cement workers.

Even with a group of people on board to assist him in his work, it took the artist almost two years to complete the pieces, which are described by the online resource as being "quirky, eccentric and full of whimsy".

Among the works that people staying in Seminyak hotels can look forward to seeing are a globe resting on a pyramid, a number of life-sized king penguins surrounding a reclining image of Buddha and a traditional Balinese policeman.

Commenting on his love for Bali, Bachmann has said: "I deeply believe I'll stay here ... I found my place."

Tourists and locals have been enjoying the varied exhibitions at ARMA since it was opened by minister for education and culture Professor Dr Ing Wardiman Djojonegoro back in 1996.

AsiaRooms.com recommends an array of Seminyak accommodation, such as the Sanur Beach Hotel Seminyak.
