This is the best way to "titillate your taste buds", the tourism body insisted.

Thanks to its multi-racial population - including Chinese, Indian and Malay people - Langkawi has a particularly diverse range of local specialities, although rice is a common feature of many of these meals.

Among the culinary delights awaiting travellers is satay, a classic Malaysian dish consisting of skewered pieces of meat marinated in spices.
