Some of the biggest names in tennis will be heading to
Queensland to contest the 2011 Brisbane International in the new year.
Qualifying for the event takes place on December 31st and January 1st, but the
tournament gets underway in earnest on January 2nd with play scheduled to kick off
at 10:30 local time.
Among the big names of the men's singles game already confirmed as appearing in
front of cheap accommodation Brisbane customers and other fans are former world number one Andy
Roddick, Robin Soderling of Sweden and Spain's Fernando Verdasco, who reached the
final in 2009.
The women's tournament is shaping up to be just as competitive, with Nadia Petrova,
Daniela Hantuchova and local favourite Sam Stosur all set to feature at Queensland
Tennis Centre.
Despite this star-studded line-up, anyone keen to stay in Brisbane CBD hotels and watch the action can still get hold of tickets, with prices starting
at A$12.90 for a ground pass.
Single-session tickets cost between A$39.90 and A$129.90 depending on the stage of
the tournament people want to watch, while a seat for the men's and women's finals
on January 8th and 9th is available from A$189.90.
Packages have been on sale since the start of October, so prospective attendees
should move fast to secure their places.
