A top tribute act called Brit Floyd will be stopping off at Liverpool's Echo Arena in January to record a launch show before they kick off their tour of Europe.

The group described themselves as the most spectacular Pink Floyd tribute act of all time and feature several professionals from the acclaimed covers band that toured Australia this year.

Damian Darlington, musical director for the concerts down under, will be performing lead vocals and guitar at the gig in Liverpool on January 22nd 2011.

The show is set to be filmed as a special launch concert for the band, which also stars Jacquie Williams, Emily Jollands and Ola Bienkowska on vocals, as well as Ian Cattell, Bobby Harrison and Rob Stringer.

"I think I can speak for all of the musicians and crew by saying these are exciting times," said Darlington.

"We've got a lot of surprises planned for 2011 and we look forward to seeing you at our Brit Floyd shows across Europe."

There are sure to be plenty of Pink Floyd fans enticed to stay at Liverpool hotels by the promise of seeing two hours or more of the iconic band's hit being played in such a grand setting.

Tickets for this event are £10 or £30 for four passes.
