Next year's edition will run at the Gloucester Guildhall from Friday January 28th to Sunday January 30th, with an impressive line-up of top Cajun and zydeco musicians due to perform. According to the organisers, the 2011 event is set to deliver "an unrivalled mix of music and dance rooted in the traditions of America's deep south". Zydeco emerged from the Creole sounds of south-west Louisiana and is a close relative of traditional Cajun music. It was originally used to soundtrack house dances, where groups of families and friends would gather to socialise.
