LateRooms.com - Good Charlotte Set to Rock in Dusseldorf

US rockers Good Charlotte are due to arrive in Dusseldorf next month.

The final German date of the group's European tour will take place in the city on Saturday January 29th 2011, with fans expected to flock to the Stahlwerk venue to be a part of the occasion.

Dusseldorf hotel companies are therefore likely to serve a large number of Good Charlotte fans, as the band are one of the most successful punk rock acts to come out of America in recent years.

Formed by brothers Joel and Benji Madden in Maryland, the group released their debut album in 2002.

However, it was not until two years later that they entered the mainstream consciousness with second effort The Young and the Hopeless.

This record spawned the hit single Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, which satirised the modern obsession with fame and the seemingly consequence-free conditions of a celebrity's existence.

Good Charlotte have since released three more albums, with their latest LP Cardiology emerging in November this year.

BBC Music reviewer Fraser McAlpine praised the record, describing it as "a bunch of energetic, melodic, fun songs on the themes of love, girls and, well, more fun".

He added that the album features some "sumptuous production touches" and provides an enjoyable listen throughout.

Tickets for Good Charlotte's Dusseldorf concert are available online, priced at €23 (£19.50). The show is due to begin at 20:00 local time.

For more information on this event, visit the Stahlwerk website or contact the venue on +49 (0)211 7 30 35-0.
