Fans of hit British movie Brassed Off may like to book Bournemouth hotels for next month's performance by the world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

This South Yorkshire ensemble have often been described as the "real stars" of the 1996 film, as they provided the memorable soundtrack and their history formed the basis of the story.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the movie's release, the acclaimed band will appear at the Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth on Saturday January 22nd 2011.

Members of the audience will be treated to classic songs from the film and other popular tunes, with tickets priced between £16.50 and £19.50.

The music is due to begin at 19:30 GMT and visitors should expect a "thoroughly entertaining show", according to a Guardian review of the Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

Written and directed by Mark Herman, Brassed Off dramatises the struggles faced by a Yorkshire village colliery band after their community is devastated by the closure of the local coal mine.

The movie stars Ewan McGregor, Tara Fitzgerald and Pete Postlethwaite, who plays the passionate band leader Danny.
