The display is on show at the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum from February 7th to May 15th 2011 and explores the variety of roles that females played in society and art between the 13th and 15th centuries. Among the ideals set to be explored in the exhibition are the representations produced in the Gothic ages and several images of the Virgin Mary, explained the organisers. "The idea is ... to examine the contributions made by art ... [the] to iconography of the female and on the basis of the art produced, assess its function in medieval society and how it evolved over the period in question," they added. There Is More In You has been led by Corinne Charles, who spent more than four years identifying different paintings, textiles, sculptures and other artwork to create an intriguing display for visitors.
