Yachting enthusiasts and fishing fanatics will be making Dusseldorf hotel bookings for the annual Boat trade fair next month.

Taking place between January 22nd and 30th at the Messe Dusseldorf exhibition hall, the 42nd edition of this prestigious industry event is set to feature approximately 1,550 exhibitors from 50 countries.

According to the show's organisers, confidence has returned to the international watersports market after a difficult period in 2009 and Boat 2011 will provide further evidence of the industry's recovery.

The exhibits will be spread throughout 17 halls in the German city, with displays of the latest boats and marine equipment to suit all tastes and budgets.

"All the signs go to show that our visitors can expect an event that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of variety, quality and internationality," said director of the trade fair Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel.

"The available hall space is very well booked."

Hall six at Boat 2011 is expected to be one of the highlights of the event, as this is where the large luxury yachts go on display.

Visitors will have an opportunity to see about 50 of the world's top new pleasure boat models in this area, which has been dubbed '360-degree elegance live'.

Adult tickets for Boat 2011 are priced at €15 (£12.50), with two-day passes available for €23. Children and students can enter for €10.

The trade fair will be open between 10:00 and 18:00 local time each day.

For more information on this event, visit the Boat website or contact the organisers on +49 (0)211 45 60 01.
