LateRooms.com - The Annual Festival Returns To Sandgate In The New Year

Queensland's Music By The Sea festival will celebrate its ninth year when it takes place next month.

The outdoor event will be held on January 7th and 8th 2011 at Einbunpin Lagoon Park in Sandgate, around a 30-minute drive from a number of Brisbane hotels.

Plenty of emerging acts from local areas and interstate will be playing at this year's edition, which kicks off on the opening night with a special free-to-attend opening ceremony featuring performances from Geoffrey Fabila and Samjjana.

This event is due to start at 19:30 local time, followed at 20:00 by a DJ set from Bagadijay that the organisers have promised will involve "non-stop dancing 'til late".

After attending this party to herald in the show, ticketholders will no doubt be looking forward to checking out the packed line-up for Saturday 8th, which is headlined by Sunshine Coast three-piece OKA.

The band, who recently returned from a three-month tour of Canada, will take to the stage at 21:00.

Tickets for Music By The Sea are available now, with people who purchase online benefitting from a A$5 discount on prices at the gate. Adult admission costs A$45 via the festival website, while five to 11-year-olds can get in for A$5.

Evening passes are only available at the venue and cost A$35.

For more information on this event, visit the Music By The Sea website.
