Some of the biggest names in the music world will head to the UAE next month to perform at the 2011 Dubai International Jazz Festival.

The event runs from January 20th to February 18th, culminating in a series of gigs featuring big-name acts such as Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, US soul singer Macy Gray and the UK's Mica Paris.

Other stars who are sure to generate demand for tickets from people staying in Dubai hotels for the occasion include the multi-award-winning Alison Moyet and Joshua Radin.

The main gigs will take place between February 16th and 18th at Dubai Media City, with the opening night kicking off at 19:00 local time and starring Paris, Moyet and Holland.

Mindi Abair & Peter White, Macy Gray and Lifehouse will play on February 17th, while Jessy J, Joshua Radin and Train are on the bill for the closing night.

Tickets are available now but only in limited numbers, so anyone keen to attend these shows should move fast. Prices start at 275 UAD dirhams (£48) per night for standing room, although free stools can be chosen on request.

Seating costs between 350 and 495 UAE dirhams, while space on the VIP terrace is priced at 975 UAE dirhams including an open bar.
